Maintenance Technician

Under mínimal supervision, the Maintenance Technician should be confident performing the functions necessary to maintain systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, troubleshooting, and performing set-ups, changeovers, and installs of production machinery. This position is also responsible to meet and exceed department and company objectives.
The Maintenance Technician duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Install and maintain production machines and equipment as required.
- Perform emergency repairs of machinery during production.
- Perform scheduled machine repairs, modifications, and maintenance during planned downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting and spare parts selection.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to repair and rebuild different parts, components, and mechanical assemblies.
- Use a digital multi-meter and other electrical tools to troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical components and systems of automation control.
- Diagnose problems and issues with the machinery and suggest solutions and improvements.
- Perform machine changeovers as required by production.
- Perform machine adjustments during production.
- Perform regular preventative and predictive maintenance on production machines and equipment.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Education/Experience/Qualifications/Skills
- A college diploma in a relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of Maintenance Technician experience is preferred.
- Experience working in the food industry is considered an asset.
- Experience performing troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC systems.
- Experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance on automation machinery and industrial equipment.
- Experience working with thermoforming machines is an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of automation control.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is required.
- Ability to properly and safely use a variety of tools.
- Must have own basic tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
