We are an enterprising business and franchise law firm that is on track for aggressive growth and we need an experienced Business or Franchise Paralegal to join our team and work directly with the owner and lawyers to support the team and help clients.

We are growing fast, and we need a Business/Franchise Paralegal who can hit the ground running with mínimal supervision

**To be considered for this position, you must reside in Toronto, ON, CA.**

**Compensation**:
$70,000 - $85,000 yearly

**Responsibilities**:
**Your job responsibilities will include**:

- Holding client meetings and providing strategic legal and business adviceand sometimes even life advice
- Drafting legal contracts, agreements, correspondences, letters, and other documents while taking each client’s personal and professional goals and priorities into consideration (yes, we make an individualized Action Plan for each and every client).
- Organizing and coordinating corporate filings and entity registrations, including annual reports, good standings, general filings, and other corporate records management to ensure compliance with corporate laws.
- Prepare documentation for M&A and franchise transactions, including drafting key transactional documents and ancillary agreements, tracking the status of negotiations, preparing summaries of key terms, and assisting with closing and post-closing matters.
- Assisting with negotiating the best possible outcome in business/franchise transactions and contentious contracts.
- Following up with clients on a regular basis to proactively check in on their business, their contract, their new hire, their transaction, etc.
- Managing and updating our precedent database with new types of contracts and new types of custom-drafted clauses.

The position is virtual, with the possibility of hybrid in-person at some point in the future. Salary is expected to be $70,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience and workload. There is an opportunity to earn more based on experience, or if you advance to a more senior position, and bonus compensation for those who can demonstrate their profitability as well.
