The solution designer is responsible for translating the requirements into detailed specifications.

Role/Skills
- Responsible for translating operational requirements into detailed specifications
- Participates in the high-level solution design and estimation process
- Designs the solution for the software product according to the solution architecture and technical roadmap
- Responsible for defining development specifications and system modifications necessary to achieve objectives (including non-functional requirements)
- Provides technical support and leadership in the event of escalating incidents or service disruptions to ensure they are resolved effectively
- Identifies, recommends, researches, negotiates and designs solutions to improve the stakeholder experience
- Provides in-depth advice and knowledge on the technical feasibility of proposed deliverables
- Breaks down the requirements into small sections and defines the relationships of each to establish a logical design
- Uses a variety of techniques that provide the most effective ways for people who know the requirements of the solution to evaluate the completeness, usability, ease of use, and flow of the solution in order to get appropriate feedback on the proposed solution
- Designs intuitive solutions that add value to users
- Has the ability to break down development elements into small increments that benefit users, in collaboration with the owner of the software product
- Has the ability to produce documentation for the user community (such as release notes)
- Ability to document designs within prescribed timelines
- Works with developers and QA to ensure that detailed design is well understood and development initiatives are consistent with design
- Supports delivery teams (Dev and QA) to ensure quality deliveries
