General Liquids Canada, part of the Municipal Group of Companies, operates a state of the art Liquid Aspaht Emulsion Plant, Liquid Aspahlt Terminal and Performance Labrotory for the Municipal Group of Companies. General Liquids Canada is looking for a dedicated individual to join the team as an **Emulsion Plant Operator** based out of our facility in **Waverly, NS**. This is a full-time seasonal position.

**Job Summary**:
General Liquids Canada Ltd operates a liquid asphalt emulsion plant that produces an array of emulsion products. The operator of this facility will be responsible for the operation of the plant, production of materials and to perform regular preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. The process involves working with emulsion plant controls, pumps, motors and gauges.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Smooth and optimum operation of the plant with strong trouble shooting skills ensuring compliance with safety standards of the company.
- Understand the processes and concepts behind emulsion production and ensuring the product complies with QC/QA requirements.
- Perform all tasks related to start up and shutdown of the plant before and after production.
- Ensure the plant is running effectively in a safe and efficient manner.
- Willing to learn and perform quality control tests on emulsion and liquid asphalt to be able to make adjustments as necessary towards better formulation.
- Inventory management, material receiving and shipping.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment log, operation log and willing to work on plant documentation like operating procedures, safety procedures, process description, etc. As defined within the ISO 9001/14001 management system framework.
- Perform routine maintenance of the plant and be able to initiate predictive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Be able to handle hazardous material in a safe manner according to company egulation and policies.
- Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, scissor lifts and maintain superior housekeeping standards.
- Availability and willing to work extended hours.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience**:

- 5 years experience working in production or manufacturing plant environment.
- Good understanding of process plant and operation.
- Knowledge of chemistry will be beneficial.
- Road construction industry and Lab experience would be a plus.
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to lift 50lbs and climb ladder and stairs up tanks.
- Computer literacy.
