**Job Summary**

The Drafting and Design Assistant will be responsible for all aspects of drafting, as well as assisting the design manager with client communications and selections, design concepts, product selection and ordering.

**Performance Objectives**

**Essential Functions**:

- Produce accurate drawings and 3D renderings using Chief Architect for client presentation
- Produce accurate construction drawings using Chief Architect for trades.
- Keep project to do’s up to date in design schedule
- Assist Design Manager with design concepts, customer selections, quoting and ordering
- Input all selections and drawings into Buildertrend
- Streamline change order communication with up-to-date scope of work and drawings
- Sit in client meetings to receive direction and provide ideas to then implement in drawings
- Develop 3D model in Chief Architect for client presentation
- Create engineer-ready construction drawings
- Create trade drawings (mechanical, electrical, cabinetry) to clearly communicate expectations
- Keep all files in active jobs organized
- Assist in creating full scope of work document for every project

**Minimum Qualification Requirements**
- 2 years of relevant work experience in CAD drawings
- Post-secondary degree in design or drafting related field
- Thorough understanding of residential construction workflow
- Ability to create accurate, engineer-ready construction drawings

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $30,000.00-$45,000.00 per year

- Sunnyside, NL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- AutoCAD: 1 year (preferred)
