**Position Overview**:
The Development Manager reports directly to the Vice President and is responsible for providing strong leadership in managing land development project teams in the planning, design, approval and servicing phases. The Development Manager oversees land development reports, correspondence and drawing submissions to local municipalities involving architecture, landscape civil engineering design and marketing. He or she will enhance the Development Teams’ effectiveness by bringing an entrepreneurial spirit to the team, a zest for problem solving and a professional manner in representing the company to all government agencies, politicians, consultants, industry, the community at large. You are a leader and avid team player who thrives in a fast-paced work environment and enjoys working on multiple projects simultaneously.

The role of Development Manager will consist of but not be limited to.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for leading the execution of multiple projects, including leading internal and external teams in delivering successful projects, taking responsibility for the design approval and delivery, including financial viability of development projects.
- Assist with acquisitions, due diligence review and feasibility analysis to make recommendations regarding project viability
- Coordinate and execute all meetings with consultants, contractors, municipality staff and council meetings as required in a professional manner.
- Oversee all project budgets and schedules throughout the life cycle of projects
- Oversee and responsible for consultant organization and communications (RFP’s, contracts meeting documentation, deliverables, and contracts.
- Manage projects through all legal and land title processes and assist with project legal matters (housing agreements, easements, rights of ways, bylaws, strata plans, disclosure statements)
- Represent Lorval Developments professionally at industry events public engagements being the public interface of the company with the community.
- Market, product and specification review, coordination and filing
- Actively participate in industry and policy consultation, effectively communicating and reacting to impacts to Lorval projects and assets in real time

**Skills Required**:

- 5+ years of direct project management experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to lead teams to a common goal
- Ability to participate in management meetings in a constructive and professional manner
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to balance multiple perspectives.
- Education and background in Real Estate, Planning, Urban Land Economics, Architecture, Planning or Engineering
- Excellent organizational time management and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with competing priorities.
- Ability to establish a network of contacts with municipal, consultant and development communities
- Excellent computer skills
- Professional knowledge of design drawings of all related development fields.

**Education**
- Post secondary education in planning, urban land economics, construction management, architecture or related field.
