**About the EVolveSkills Project**:
EVolveSkills is a forward-thinking, national initiative led by Achēv, designed to support Canada’s transition to a low-carbon economy by training and upskilling current automotive industry employees in Electric Vehicle (EV) repair and maintenance, and engage with and support new career entrants exploring the automotive field with the goal of reducing potential labour market shortages and enhancing the skills of Canada’s workforce.. This project aims to train over 1300 participants across Ontario, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia. EVolveSkills not only focuses on building a future-ready workforce but also strengthens employer capacity to meet evolving industry demands.
**Position Overview**:
We are seeking five dynamic, results-driven Industry Training Engagement Specialists to lead employer partnership and engagement efforts within the EVolveSkills project. The specialists will work directly with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), industry associations, and business networks, as well as with project partners including Vancouver Community College, Nova Scotia Community College, Mohawk College, Durham College, Sheridan College, ISANS, DIVERSEcity and Plug’N Drive.This role will play a key part in connecting employers with micro credentialing opportunities for their existing employees, supporting recruitment pathways for new entrants, and ensuring broader representation of equity-deserving groups in the EV and automotive repair sectors.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Build, manage, and sustain strong relationships with employers across Ontario’s EV maintenance sector.
- Conduct comprehensive employer needs assessments to inform training pathways, logístical planning, and financial considerations.
- Actively promote the benefits of micro credentialing to SMEs within the Automotive sector through targeted outreach and awareness campaigns.
- Support employers in upskilling their current workforce and creating pathways for new hires, particularly those from underrepresented communities.
- Facilitate access to wraparound supports for employees enrolled in the program, ensuring comprehensive assistance is provided to address barriers and promote successful upskilling and employment outcomes.
- Track employer engagement activities, collect ongoing feedback, evaluate satisfaction, and report against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Facilitate coaching sessions to support increased diversity and equity among employees and career entrants.
- Collaborate closely with academic and community partners to ensure alignment of workforce development efforts.
- Assist with planning and execution of employer-facing events, workshops, and information sessions.
- Maintain detailed records in CRM or internal tracking systems and contribute to reporting requirements.
- Represent Achēv and the EVolveSkills project at industry meetings, conferences, and networking events.
- Travel across the Greater Toronto Area and to rural/northern Ontario locations as required (overnight stays may be necessary).

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma in Business, Human Resources, Workforce Development, Sales Training and Development, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of direct experience in employer engagement, workforce development, recruitment, business development, or partnership building.
- Solid understanding of labor market trends, especially related to the automotive and EV sectors.
- Demonstrated experience working with Small and Medium Enterprises and equity-deserving groups.
- Strong communication, negotiation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Proven track record of meeting Key Performance Indicators and performance targets.
