Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.

Strescon Limited is currently recruiting a full time or part time Plant Maintenance Technician at our precast concrete facility in Bedford, NS.

**Responsibilities**:
Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on all facility equipment and systems
Assist with troubleshooting all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC systems
Working with outside third party maintenance companies
Conduct equipment inspections as required or as outlined by the preventative maintenance schedule to detect and diagnose issues
Report detailed records of work performed to management
Contribute to plant upgrades and improvements
Additional duties as assigned

Technical Requirements

Strong electrical and PLC experience
5 to 7 years' experience in a heavy industrial environment
Valid provincial certification as an Industrial or Construction Electrician would be an asset
Past experience in the maintenance of overhead cranes would be useful
Journeyman Industrial Mechanic/Millwright or equivalent experience would be an asset
Welding tickets would also be considered an asset

Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to handle physically demanding work
Must be comfortable working at heights

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate within a diverse workforce
Available to work shifts on a flexible basis including short notice of overtime

Hourly wage for this position starts between $22-$25 per hour.
