Plant Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities Analyze sources of trouble or failures, devise repair methods and proceed with repair work Assemble, install and adjust a variety of bearings, bushings, shafts, gears, and pins Inspect, lubricate and adjust machinery as needed Repair / replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, cutting torches and welding equipment Rebuild or fabricate parts when necessary Operate power / hand tools and welding equipment (electric or gas) Observe all health, safety and environmental rules and practices while maintaining safe and organized workspaces Additional duties as assigned Conduct site hazard assessments and various other checks Requirements Five (5) years’ related work experience demonstrating thorough knowledge and abilities for operating, troubleshooting and maintaining plant equipment Mechanically inclined with working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and boiler systems Knowledge of electrical systems Must be willing and able to work long shifts and extra hours when necessary Basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, welding, plumbing, plastic or sheet metal fabrication skills Previous experience in a ready mix and/or construction industry would be considered an asset Interest and ability in working both independently and as a team Strong critical thinking / problem-solving skills Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation Physical Requirements Must be able to work in a loud heavy industrial environment, exposed to weather elements Ability to handle routine walking, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing and lifting / carrying up to 50-pound loads safely Ability to climb ladders and work at heights As a member of the OSCO Construction Group, OSCO Concrete offers comprehensive compensation and benefits packages including health and dental coverage, life insurance and RRSP options.
