**SOMMAIRE DE L’OCCUPATION**

Sous la responsabilité du directeur d’usine, le machiniste a comme principales tâches d’opérer différentes machines-outils numériques ou conventionnelles.

**DESCRIPTION**
- Machiner les pièces selon la qualité et les exigences demandées.
- Vérifier les plans et valider avec le matériel reçu.
- Vérifier les outils disponibles et installer les pièces sur l’équipement.
- Concevoir ou modifier un programme directement sur la machine.
- Mesurer et tracer les lignes, les dimensions et les points de repère sur la pièce à usiner.
- Exécuter les opérations d’usinage.
- Sélectionner et monter les outils de coupe pour le travail à accomplir.
- Régler les paramètres de coupe. Optimiser le fonctionnement de la machine-outil.
- Opérer diverses machines-outils pour exécuter les travaux d’usinage.
- Vérifier les dimensions, les tolérances, la forme et le fini spécifié des pièces.
- Tenir le poste de travail ainsi que les équipements propres et dégagés d’obstacles.
- Utiliser au besoin les différents appareils de levage et de manutention.
- Effectuer toutes autres tâches connexes à son occupation principale.

**EXIGENCES DE BASE REQUISES**
- Détenir un diplôme d’études professionnelles (DEP) en usinage, expérience ou formation équivalente.
- Avoir une très bonne connaissance en lecture de plan.
