Position: Licensed Machinist

Location: St. Thomas, ON

Wage: $36–$42/hour (based on experience and skill level)

Our client is a highly reputable, full-service machine shop specializing in CNC machining, precision grinding, manual milling and turning, and detailed inspection services. They are looking for an experienced General Machinist/Toolmaker to handle CNC machine setup, programming, and operation for a variety of machining tasks such as milling, turning, and drilling. The ideal candidate will have strong technical ability, hands-on machining expertise, and confidence in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and engineering drawings.

Shift: Afternoon

Mon–Thu: 3:15 PM – 12:15 AM

Fri: 3:15 PM – 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate various machining equipment, including grinders, welders, and overhead cranes

Prepare and load raw materials or die components for machining

Program and run CNC machines using Mastercam and CAD files

Perform routine maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed

Build, modify, and repair precision tools, jigs, and fixtures following technical drawings

Uphold high standards of accuracy, quality, and safety during all machining operations

Skills & Qualifications

Licensed Machinist and/or Tool and Die Maker certification (preferred but not required)

At least 5 years of machining experience in Canada

Strong ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and blueprints

Skilled in programming and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines

Advanced proficiency with Mastercam (mandatory)

Experience with control systems such as Okuma, Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain

Solid understanding of G-code and M-code
