**What you bring to the team.**

The Health and Safety Specialist is responsible to ensure that health and safety requirements are in place and to maintain compliance. This position will be the primary contact for any incidents in the Regional Distribution Centres, including regular and ongoing on-site visits and audits. The H & S Specialist supports the H & S Compliance Lead and the Environmental & Quality Lead with accurate data and reports. This position reports directly to the National SHEQ Manager with directions for day-to day activities provided by the Health and Safety Compliance Lead. There is a strong dotted line directly to the Supply Chain Operations Manager - Canada to support involvement in hazard awareness, prevention and education, toolbox talks, and a daily presence in the warehouse.

This position is located in Mississauga, Ontario, and requires in-person attendance from Monday to Friday. Travel to other Canadian locations is required (Edmonton, Montreal, Lively, Wabush).

**Responsibilities**:

- Main contact for all Epiroc RDC team members and sites for Health and Safety requirements.
- Ensure that all aspects of the H&S programs are identified, successfully implemented and maintained to support any regulatory requirements, the Epiroc Way, the ISO 45001 Standard, and customer specific requirements as applicable.
- Assist with the creation of forms, procedures, presentations, graphs, etc. to support the deliverables within the global SHEQ organization.
- Present training to appropriate employees.
- Assess training effectiveness.
- Onsite visits and audits for adherence to requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare monthly reports.

**Experience**:

- Knowledge/experience in ISO 45001 preferred.
- Experience in incident investigation, hazard assessments, return to work process.
- Knowledge in Federal, Provincial, and municipal regulations.
- Previous experience in the mining, warehouse or manufacturing industry is an asset.

**Knowledge/Education**:

- Post secondary school education in related field.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

**Qualifications**:

- Excellent attendance.
- Clear driving record.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills, able to present in front of an audience.
- Able to work with limited supervision.
- Willing to travel.
- Ability to represent Epiroc in a professional and ethical manner.
- Bilingual (French/English) is a strong asset.
