We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics and Purchasing Coordinator in our Penticton or Whitehorse office or yard locations. Are you an experienced purchasing professional who can effectively negotiate with suppliers, track and control inventory and manage industry relationships? Then this is the role for you

**Responsibilities**
- Works with an estimating team including other managers.
- Shipping and receiving.
- Negotiating best price.
- Writing Purchase Orders.
- Maintains a database of suppliers and freight companies and of historical data.
- Builds relationships with suppliers and freight companies.
- Liaise with Operations Manager and Yard Personnel to ensure correct delivery of goods.
- Track any back orders.
- Track and maintain inventory.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing and logistics in the construction industry.
- Willing to travel to remote sites/other locations.
- Well organized, computer literate, flexible, diligent, enjoys challenges.
- Able to work well as a team member and be resourceful while maintaining efficiency and meeting deadlines.
- Wholesale experience would be an asset.
- Able to quantity survey/estimate construction drawings and specifications to requirements.
- General knowledge of construction.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- Must be self-directed and self-motivated.
