Aquatic Coating Applicator

Dunk Pools, a division of the Hazelwood Group, is seeking for an Aquatic Coating Applicator to join the team based in Nanaimo, BC. This is a full-time, permanent position.
As part of the coatings crew, the Applicators will perform work at the dunk Manufacturing facility in Nanaimo, and will also travel off-site to various locations around the Province to perform re-coating work. Applicators can expect to be away from home for 2-5 days at a time. Responsibilities will include tearing off old coating systems, properly disposing of older coatings, prepping metal pool walls, and coating the pools to a quality finish. All necessary equipment and PPE will be provided to ensure that work is performed in the safest manner possible.

**Compensation**
- $24 to $28 per hour, depending on experience.
**Qualifications**
- Experience as a painter, sandblaster, or with a spray gun.
- Ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- Critical eye for identifying defects.
- Commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor.
- Experience painting with different types of paint guns (airless, pot, plural gun, air brush).
- Experience in a leadership role supervising 2 or more people.
**Desirable Qualifications**
- Experience painting/air brushing as a hobby.
- 5+ years’ experience in a Foreman type role.
- Experience with logístical and coordination planning
- Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting different mechanical systems.
- First Aid and WHIMIS certificates.
**Work Conditions**
- Job requires ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, respirator, etc.).
- Regularly in conditions that include heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects of up to 50lbs.
- Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
- Must be able to work away from home for 2-5 days at a time.
- Noise level is generally loud.
- Excellent stamina is required.
- Hazards associated with the industry.

**Salary**: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
