**LIBRARY CLERK**OR LIBRARY TECHNICIAN -**St.**Francis Junior High** School** (**Lethbridge**)**

We are looking to hire a temporary 15.0 hour per week Library Clerk or Library Technician (position to be determined based on education qualifications) to work at St. Francis Junior High School in Lethbridge. This assignment is to commence as soon as possible and terminate April 17, 2025. This position is covered by the CUPE 1825 collective agreement. Please quote** Posting**#3924860**.**

Under the direction of the Principal, the Library Clerk or Library Technician will process new library resources, assist students and teachers in learning about and using library resources, and supervise students in the library. Confidentiality is of utmost importance in achieving the common good for all students. Through collaborative team-based structure, the Library Clerk or Library Technician will carry out tasks as assigned by the Principal.

**EDUCATION**:
**Library Clerk**
- Knowledge and experience with library software is recommended.

**Library Technician**
- Two year Library Technician Diploma or Library and Information Technology certificate;
- Knowledge and experience with library software is recommended.

**WORK EXPERIENCE**:

- Two years' experience in a library setting;
- Experience in working with students.

**TECHNICAL SKILLS**:
**Library Clerk**
- Knowledgeable about Internet-based reading and research tools as well as Apps for iPads;
- Word processing skills.

**Library Technician**
- Proficiency in the use of library computer programs;
- Computer/word processing skills with proficiency in Google platforms and Microsoft Office Applications;
- Use of audio-visual equipment and photocopier.

**INTERPERSONAL SKILLS**:

- Good communication skills;
- Supportive in working with students and teachers;
- Ability to work independently and show initiative;
- Organizational skills/time management;
- Behaviour management skills to support student learning.
