**About the Opportunity**

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic **Estimator**to join our team in our **Lethbridge Branch.**

As Estimator, you will report directly to the Senior Estimator. You will be required to obtain and produce accurate cost estimates for assigned tenders, evaluate bid specifications and drawings, perform conceptual budgets, design-build and hard estimates including unit pricing, quantity takeoffs, and sub-contractor pricing.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Handle all aspects of the tendering process, including but not limited to all take-offs, general conditions and scheduling
- Analyze tender specifications and drawings verifying the scope of work and/or discrepancies from prospective clients
- Attend pre-bid meetings as required
- Revise bid packages and prepare addendums as needed
- Solicit and maintain communication with the subcontractors and vendors
- Ensure that there is proper coverage from subcontractors on bid day
- Review and assess proposals to determine the desirability of the potential project
- Show creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors
- Submit 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates
- Conduct tender review meetings to review scope, productions, construction approach and schedule
- Work closely with operations team to create bid strategy, techniques, etc.

In order to qualify for this role, you will need at least 3+ years of direct estimating experience in the commercial and industrial construction industry. This experience in combination with a post-secondary or technical trade certification in a construction-related field is required.

**The Requirements**:

- 3+ years of estimating experience in medium to large scale commercial projects
- Post-secondary education (Engineering degree, CET, etc.)
- Must have strong knowledge of local sub-trades and suppliers in Alberta, B.C., and Manitoba markets
- Knowledge of construction methodologies and effective scheduling practices
- Effective leadership and organizational skills, and decision making abilities
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Superior problem-solving skills
- Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver’s license and clean abstract
- Must have excellent written and verbal skills
- Effective interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with a diverse group and personalities
- Must have a strong desire to succeed in a career in estimating
