**Job Overview**

To ensure the machines are working properly in order for production goals to stay on schedule. The plastics production operator is critical to the process as they monitor all the equipment and output. They must complete quality checks and ensure that the completed product is up to the company's standards and ready for delivery.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Visual inspect plastic products and package according to specified requirements
- Stand, lift, bend and twist while handling plastic products (less than 40lbs)
- Controlling and adjusting machine settings (e.g. speed, weights, heat)
- Check production output according to specifications
- Identify issues in efficiency and suggest/implement improvements
- Enforce and follow strict safety guidelines including PPE, participate in Toolbox Talks and abide by company safety rules and standards

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Ability to use basic hand tools including pliers, measuring tools, and hand drills
- Proven experience moulding machine operations.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Capacity to lift up to 20lbs and on occasion as much as 50lbs.
- Capable to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Communicate effectively with superiors and co-workers in a team environment.
- Forklift Licenses or warehouse experience is an asset.

**Work Conditions**
- Day, afternoon, or on-call shifts. (Mainly Afternoon shift)
- Overtime as required.
- Safety equipment, such as steel-toed boots and safety glasses are required.
- Hazards associated with the trade.
- Noisy environment.
- Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, squatting, and bending.
- May perform work in hot or cold weather.

Other Requirements

- Class 5 Driving License

Work Environment

Hours: 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, Monday to Thursday.

Location: The position is based in Edmonton.

Wage: $15.00-$18.00 per hour + $1.00 per hour Afternoon shift premium

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $16.00-$19.00 per hour
