The Buyer will support internal stakeholders by obtaining quotes for materials and services, issuing purchase orders, and expediting deliveries. They will analyze the market conditions for materials and services within their portfolio, creating value/cost savings through strategic sourcing. The Buyer will use Irving Shipbuilding’s ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) & MRP (Material Resource Planning) systems to file, store and manage spend on executed contracts. They will also use these systems to view, reconcile and approve invoices. The Buyer will support continuous improvement by consulting, advising, and adhering in the development of new Supply Chain Processes.

- Education: Post-Secondary education, Bachelor of Business Administration preferred
- Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience
- Previous exposure to market analytics and insights
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Fluency in Microsoft Office
- Develop and improve supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance
- Issue Purchase Orders for materials
- Expedite materials
- Invoicing activities
- Execution of negotiated contracts through Irving Shipbuilding’s ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MRP (Material Resource Planning) systems
- Analyze market conditions (pricing, availability, lead-time, capacity)
- Undertake cost analysis for direct material and services
