The Service Employees International Union Local 2 (SEIU Local 2) is a 20,000-member organization that represents workers in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We are currently looking to hire an Education Coordinator to work out of our Mississauga Head Office.

**Duties**:
The primary focus of the Education Coordinator will be to develop and facilitate curriculum, programs, workshops and trainings for our staff and membership using creative and unique techniques. Together with the leadership team, the Education Coordinator will oversee the implementation of all learning facets of the Local. These may include but are not limited to:

- Workshops and training:

- Research and develop curriculum
- Develop and produce material
- Develop interactive and dynamic modules
- Develop facilitator guidelines
- Local 2 specific:

- Steward training
- Strike preparedness training
- Leadership Academy training

**Qualifications**:

- 3 to 5 years teaching and/or facilitating
- Valid Driver’s license and a reliable vehicle - travel is required
- Ability to work irregular hours
- Ability to exercise good judgement, initiative and manage shifting priorities
- Demonstrate a commitment to social justice

**Abilities**:

- Ability to work with a diverse audience both in person and through videoconferencing
- Ability to facilitate through an anti-oppression lens
- Able to understand group dynamics and alter workshops in real-time as needed
- Strong communication skills
- A self-starter who is able to work with minimum supervision
- Can work independently and within a group
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft programs)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail

**Assets**:

- Background in the labour industry
- Languages
- College diploma or higher
- Occupational Health and Safety certified

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
