Landscaping Softscape Project Manager

**Responsibilities**:
**Project Planning & Scheduling**
- Develop detailed project schedules and work breakdown structures that align to project specifications and budget.
- Identify project milestones, critical paths, and potential bottlenecks.
- Monitor and adjust project timelines, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to deadlines.
- Coordinate and schedule Landscape crews to complete yearly contracted property maintenance per site-specific requirements and commitments.
**Resource Management**
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Forecast labor, equipment, and material needs, ensuring accurate procurement and delivery.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage lead times and ensure timely delivery of materials.
**Budget Management**
- Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and monitoring for unforeseen costs.
- Review and approve vendor invoices and internal expense requests.
- Manager change order process, seek documented approvals from both internal and external stakeholders for design or specification adjustments before commencing change order work.
- Provide accurate data and updates to accounting so they can maintain financial reports, projections, and efficiently manage AP/AR.
**Client & Stakeholder Communication**
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits and facilitate project meetings to provide updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Resolve issues promptly and professionally, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
**Quality Control & Compliance**
- Ensure that all landscape projects meet or exceed industry standards, local bylaws, and client specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify safety, quality, and compliance with environmental regulations.
**Team Leadership**
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to project coordinators, field crews, and support staff.
- Foster a positive team environment that promotes safety, continuous improvement, and open communication.
- Implement best practices related to health and safety in accordance with Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and provincial guidelines.
**Reporting & Documentation**
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports, site photos, and inspection records.
- Prepare and present reports on project status, key performance indicators, and risk assessments to senior management.
- Implement or use project management software to streamline communication and data tracking.
**Qualifications**
**Education & Experience**
- Post-secondary education in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in landscape project management or a similar construction-related role.
- Experience with various software platforms (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, LMN or similar) is an asset.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
- Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) or related designation from a recognized Canadian landscaping association is an asset.
- Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean driving record.
**Technical Skills**
- Strong knowledge of landscaping methodologies, horticultural practices, and construction processes in Canada.
- Familiarity with local building codes, environmental regulations, and municipal bylaws related to landscaping.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
- Experience with scheduling, project management, and landscape industry-specific software.
**Soft Skills**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with a commitment to safety and high-quality standards.
- Effective problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
