**SALES & CATERING COORDINATOR**
**JOB OVERVIEW**: a valued member of the sales team, working with the DOS in an administrative role that supports the catering sales department. A great opportunity for someone looking to enter the sales field. Overseas and executes the efficient coordination of all meetings, banquets, receptions and events within the meeting spaces of the hotel with or without groups achieving guest satisfaction The job requires a confident, well organized, problem-solving abilities and a calm, professional demeanor.
**REPORTS TO**: Director of Sales & Marketing
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:
**1. **Move throughout hotel property to conduct site inspections presenting guest rooms and meeting spaces.
**2. **Comfort in presenting and discussing Food & Beverage menus and catering details.
**4. **Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented within a timely manner.
**5. **Prepare Banquet Event Orders (BEO) prior to the events; ensuring accurate communication of event details to the operational departments is relayed in order to achieve guest satisfaction.
**6. **Host weekly Sales & Service meetings, present BEO’s to the operations team.
**7. **Know and understand room set ups for functions and time required for set up.
**8. **Be familiar with the hotel catering menus, pricing and the ability to upsell and increase catering revenues; familiarity with specialty foods available an asset.
**9. **Represent hotel at trade shows and community events. Set up exhibits involving bending, stooping, lifting and reaching overhead.
**10. **Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
**11. **Participate in training for brand and keeping skills up to date as directed by DOS.
**12. **Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
**REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:
**1. **1+ years of hotel experience, ideally in a sales & catering environment.
**2. **Excellent oral and written skills; speak and write in English fluently.
**3. **Exceptional customer service skills.
**4. **Confident math skills.
**5. **Exceptional organizational, time management and prioritization skills - a comfort multitasking under pressure.
**6. **Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to determine a course of action based on guidelines.
**7. **Team player.
**8. **Skilled using Excel, Word and Microsoft Office. Powerpoint. Opera and Salesforce an asset.
**9. **Legal to work within Canada.
**10. **Reliable vehicle required and must have a valid driver’s license.
**11. **Smart Serve Certification-ideal.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
