We are currently looking to hire a:
**Coordinator, Students, Research and Innovation1 - Part Time Permanent (21 hours per week)**

**Reporting To**:VP, System Integration, Innovation and Engagement

**Purpose**:
The Research and Innovation Coordinator plays a pivotal role in advancing research and fostering innovation within an organization. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, facilitate student experience and placement coordination, and ensure seamless coordination of research initiatives. By supporting the development and implementation of innovative projects, the coordinator contributes to organizational growth and excellence.

**Responsibilities**:
1. **Student Experience and Placement Coordination**:

- Collaborate with research teams both internally and externally, faculty, and stakeholders to plan, execute, and monitor research projects, in line with our Community Based Research Strategy.
- Oversee the onboarding process of students
- Ensure student placement timelines, supervisory requirements and other quality standards are supported and maintained.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions related to research and innovation opportunities for and with students placed across the organization and with existing as well as prospective academic and research partners.

2. **Research Support**:

- Assist in the development of our Community Based Research Centre of Excellence model. This includes support in letter of intent and proposal design research studies, including data collection methods and ethical considerations.
- Ensure the co-design framework is being supported and utilized appropriately across the organization when exploring research and evaluation methods, recruitment and coordination of research participants and ensuring compliance with protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Compile and analyze research data, preparing reports and presentations.

3. **Innovation Initiatives**:

- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay informed about industry trends.
- Support the Innovation Strategy and innovation projects.
- Coordinate bringing a product/service to market/ exploring commercialization for revenue generation through social enterprise opportunities and social ventures for the organization to support the strategic priorities of the organization.
- Measure and analyze the effectiveness of innovation initiatives.

4. **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Serve as a liaison between other research teams, faculty, and external innovation partners.
- Facilitate communication, knowledge exchange, and collaboration across departments.
- Prepare clear and concise documentation related to research and innovation activities.
- Article writing for the various research and innovation initiatives for a variety of audiences including but not limited to newsletters, journals, papers, presentations and other articles.

5. **Quality Assurance**:

- Review written research materials for accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
- Support continuous improvement by developing new resources and workflows.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., communication, science, business, or innovation management, sociology).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A project management professional designation is an asset.
- Familiarity with research methodologies and ethics.
- Continuous process improvement and evaluation skills and a learning mindset are essential.
- A designation in a Lean/Six Sigma belt is an asset, or demonstrable experience in this field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

**Remuneration**: $24.13 - $27.25
