**Position Overview**:
As the Training and Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring that all employees receive comprehensive training and adhere to safety protocols in accordance with company standards. This role will involve overseeing training programs, conducting driving evaluations, promoting a culture of hazard/risk awareness, facilitating safety observations, and assisting with incident investigations and documentation. The position is based in our Abbotsford terminal.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Training Program Management**:

- Implement training programs for new and existing employees in Class 1, P&D, Warehouse, and Yard operations
- Conduct forklift certification and re-certification training
- Provide training on load securement, Isaac ELD, pre-trip inspections, load securement, customer service, paperwork, TDG, power jack operation, front-end loader operation, specific routes, client site orientation, and other relevant areas
- Coordinate remedial training as assigned by the Terminal Manager

**Driving Evaluations and Training**:

- Conduct driving evaluations according to scheduled timelines
- Schedule evaluations for pre-employment, probationary periods, winter driving experience, and post-incident scenarios
- Provide training for defensive driving and winter driving

**Safety Promotion and Compliance**:

- Foster a culture of hazard and risk awareness among field workers
- Conduct safety observations and checks
- Assist with incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Conduct truck equipment checks and related training sessions
- Lead tailgate meetings and facilitate job hazard task assessments

**Administrative and Compliance Duties**:

- Conduct workplace inspections.
- Serve as a first aid attendant and monitor equipment pre-trips
- Review Isaac Critical Events and address concerns with drivers directly
- Participate as a guest in JOHS committee meetings
- Assist with hiring and onboarding processes

**Communication and Collaboration**:

- Participate in bi-weekly calls to share updates and best practices

**Qualifications Required**:

- Proven, positive influence on the workplace environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good written skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
- Class 1 driver's license with 3 years highway winter experience
- Forklift experience
- Willing to work occasional evenings
- Willing to travel

**Qualifications Preferred**:

- Class 1 deck and B-train experience
- Resource Road experience (i.e. radio controlled, gravel logging roads)
- Proficiency with Word and Excel
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
- Heavy equipment experience (forklift and front-end loader)
- Experience working in a unionized environment
