We are currently recruiting for an experienced **Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA), on a casual basis **to join HFC as a part of our highly successful, fast paced, and rapidly growing specialized healthcare team.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Manager, Endocrinology Laboratory, the MLA has the primary responsibility to work with both patients and staff members to support the endocrinology and nursing team’s needs.

This role has no direct reports, but provides assistance to the HFC’s multidisciplinary team, including HFC’s diverse team of professionals and other roles.

**Job Duties (including, but not limited to)**
- Clerical Functions related to organizing daily workload
- Collection of Blood Samples
- Specimen Processing when needed
- Preparing samples for Send Out to supporting laboratories
- Supporting the Medical Lab Technologist

**Skills & Qualifications**
- MLPAO Certification or CSMLS MLA Certification required
- Three to five years of phlebotomy experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Superior Patient Service skills, confidentiality and professional demeanor required
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- High level of accuracy and detail-oriented

- Casual Work - up to 15 hours/week
- Shifts scheduled between the hours of 6:00am-4:00pm
- Clinic Hours of Operation: 7am-3pm, 7 days a week including holidays
