Inspired by the flavours of our childhood and the joy of sharing food, we serve artisanal pastries, Peruvian-inspired desserts, specialty coffee, all-day brunch, and happy hour._

We are a women-led business that believes every detail matters. We are now looking for an **Assistant Manager** to be our right hand and help bring Lavinia’s vision to life every day.

**The Role**

As Assistant Manager you will play a key role in both the daily operation and the long-term growth of Lavinia.

You will work side by side with the founders, supporting the team, coordinating service, and ensuring that every guest experience reflects the essence of Lavinia, warm, genuine, and full of care.

This is a full time, hands on position that blends leadership, organization, and hospitality.

You will help create systems, train the team, and make sure the café runs smoothly, efficiently, and always with care and intention.

**What You’ll Do**
- Oversee the daily operation of the café and support both front and back of house teams
- Lead service with calm and care, ensuring every guest experience meets Lavinia’s standards of quality and warmth
- Coordinate staff schedules, communication, and training with the founders
- Support hiring, onboarding, and team development
- Handle customer feedback and problem solving with empathy and clarity
- Assist with ordering, inventory, and daily reporting
- Help maintain visual presentation and overall ambiance of the space
- Collaborate on special events, community activations, and seasonal launches

**About You**
- You have at least two years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a café, bakery, or restaurant.
- You are organized, proactive, and passionate about people
- You have a strong sense of hospitality and love creating memorable experiences
- You balance structure with creativity and know how to stay calm and positive under pressure
- You communicate clearly and lead with kindness and confidence.
- You are excited to grow with a new concept and contribute to something meaningful from the start
- Provide hands-on support at the barista bar or register during busy hours

**Nice to Have**
- Experience in opening or managing a café, bakery, or restaurant concept
- Familiarity with POS systems, scheduling software, or basic accounting
- Provide hands-on support at the barista bar or register during busy hours

- Strong organizational or event coordination skills
- Passion for food, coffee, and community
