Role Description
The Assistant Manager will work with the management team to assist daily spa operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences while supporting staff in achieving performance goals. Key responsibilities include supervising the team, managing schedules, maintaining facility standards, resolving customer inquiries, and providing hands-on support where needed. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, BC.
Key Responsibiities
Operational:
- Daily opening and/or closing procedures for the spa.
- Support the cleaners with cleaning duties as needed, such as washing dishes, folding laundry, staging, cleaning and sanitizing the Circuits prior to sessions.
- Monitor all systems while Circuit sessions are in progress, and make adjustments as needed.
- Assist in inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maintain an organized and visually appealing environment.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to company policies and procedures, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, including staff scheduling needs, task delegation, and ensuring efficient workflow.
- Proactively identify operational opportunities and suggest Standard Operating Procedures.
Administrative:
- Assist in administrative tasks such as report generation, booking management and documentation management.
- Help analyze Key Performance Indicator data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, providing insightful recommendations to enhance business outcomes.
Sales & Performance:
- Collaborate with the General Manager to monitor progress and implement strategies to achieve departmental goals.
- Support the implementation of marketing and promotional activities, contributing to driving sales and customer engagement.
Team Development:
- Assist in onboarding, training, mentoring, and developing staff to excel in their roles, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
- Foster a positive and collaborative team-oriented culture by promoting open communication, mutual respect, and teamwork.
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff, recognizing achievements and identifying areas for improvement.
- Support the General Manager in performance evaluations and contribute to individual development plans.
Problem Solving & Decision Making:
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills to address challenges in real-time and make informed decisions that align with company policies and goals.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback, striving to enhance guest experience.
- Handle employee concerns and conflicts in a fair and consistent manner, escalating complex issues to the General Manager when necessary.
Customer Engagement:
- Lead by example in providing outstanding customer service, addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and empathy.
- Support staff in delivering personalized experiences that exceed guest expectations.
Qualifications
- Leadership and team management skills
- Customer service excellence with the ability to address guest concerns and inquiries
- Operational skills, including scheduling and maintaining facility standards
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Experience in the wellness or hospitality industry is considered an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site environment as part of a collaborative team
Salary: $29/hour + Health Spending Allowance + Complimentary Circuit Sessions
