Long time Cedar Wholesaler/Azek Distributor looking to add a strong, motivated, and very organized individual to help be the Lead Hand/Inventory Coordinator in the yard.

Must be able to quickly and decisively make decisions and organize/sort materials in the yard while rotating stock for a first in/first out philosophy.

Must be able to load/unload trucks, trailers etc in a fast paced lumber yard.

Must have Forklift Certification. First Aid is a plus.

Must be good with numbers. Should be able to do simple arithmetic without calculators.

Need to have a good familiarity with lumber sizing and some grades. WRC knowledge is a big plus.

Will be expected to keep a neat and tidy workplace and yard and be proactive when problems develop.

Wages are negotiable depending on proven and relevant experience.

The applicant will be expected to build orders and other duties as required, ie cleanup, restocking, sorting, piling, checking/counting inventory.

Forklift is a big part of the job, but it's not 100% of the position.

This is a position where the worker is expected to wear many hats, so to speak. Being a smaller company we all chip in where we can, be it building orders, loading trucks, cleaning up, replenishing stock or just showing a customer some product.

**Summary**

In the role of Yard Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations within the yard, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of materials. Reporting to the Shipping Manager, you will utilize your core skills in heavy lifting and order picking, while leveraging your premium skills in forklift operation and warehouse management systems. Your expertise in shipping and receiving will be essential for maintaining inventory accuracy. With a focus on safety, your First Aid Certification will be valuable in promoting a secure work environment. Join our team to lead and enhance our yard operations effectively.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
