**Material Handler Position Responsibilities**:

- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles in a safe manner with frequent lifting up to 50lbs
- Preparing orders and ensuring gear accuracy
- Counting, stacking, and organizing swing stage/ scaffold gear
- Safety checks and inspections of gear and equipment
- Complete minor equipment repairs
- Responsible for keeping the yard clean and organized
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by adhering to safe work practices and the Northstar Scaffold Safety Philosophy
- Use and clean tools required on the worksite
- May operate company vehicle to deliver gear to customer or project sites
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Highschool diploma or working towards one
- Previous work experience as a Yard Worker, Order Picker, or Material Handler role preferred
- Class 5 or G class license preferred (depending on Yard location)
- Forklift license an asset

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
- Capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50lbs and occasionally up to 100lbs
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment
- Ability to take initiative and work with mínimal supervision under tight time constraints
- Punctual and consistent with reliable means of travel to/from work
- A team player who works well with others and train new members as required
- Good communication skills; both verbal and written
- Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
