The Controller will report directly to the CEO with dotted line reporting to two other business unit CEOs and manage a small team of two.

**Responsibilities**

**Leadership**
- Establish, and nurture strong leadership to support the success of the Company
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship for a team of accounting professionals
- Manage operations of accounting department, including structure, recruitment, and all employment matters
- Inspire innovation in our operations, and in how teams work together
- Demonstrate financial and business acumen to create a collaborative yet agile culture and lead the accounting department to contribute significant value to the business

**Foundational**
- Drive the financial and tax strategies
- Establish and maintain a documented system of effective policies and procedures
- Construct, monitor and enforce reliable control systems
- Implement operational best practices
- Provide continuous process improvements across multiple disciplines

**Accounting and Finance**
- Drive the full-cycle accounting process
- Lead all transactional accounting practices including AP, AR, and inventory controls
- Ensure timely production and provision of financial statements
- Provide all management reporting
- Manage all financial analysis and analytic trending and reports
- Manage full annual, and ongoing budgetary process, forecasting and analysis
- Interface, and build necessary relationships with all external parties including auditors, tax consultants, bankers, insurance providers, etc. to ensure full jurisdictional and regulatory compliance
- Assist with varies types of financing activities

**HR and Payroll**
- Manages Canadian, US, HK and UK payroll, group benefits and disability management plan design and administration
- Ensures compliance with federal, provincial, state and local legislative requirements as it relates to employment and employee information
- Provides leadership and coaching to all staff on key workplace matters
- Acts as the key point of contact for employee relations

**IT and Office Administration**
- Manage the IT Administrator and oversee the company’s IT function
- Oversee lease negotiation and various legal contract management
- Oversee management of facility and office services to achieve operational efficiency in support of meeting business objectives

**Qualification and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- CPA Designation
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience, in a related industry
- Proficient in systems such as Microsoft GP, Ceridian and ERP software, including system implementation and planning skills
- Experience building and developing strategic, effective, and trusted working relationships with senior executives and all internal and external partners, support and clients
- Able and motivated to drive a culture of quality, and personal accountability through development and delivery teams
- Strong people and management skills to interact with Executive Committee team members, cross-functional teams, and all levels of the Company
- Experience in a manufacturing environment considered an asset
- Hands-on, team-oriented player
