**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Experience of sinking caisson shafts and operating equipment below grade
- Experience of working in urban areas
- Experience working with 360 Wheeled Excavator (Rubber Duck)
- Experience working with Dumper/Roller would be beneficial and experience of driving a Wheeled Excavator is essential and you must hold a valid certificate
- Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures
- Ensure all excavations meet OH&S requirements i.e.: valid locates, back slope on excavations, spoil pile location crossing agreements, etc.
- Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers
- Ensure company equipment, material and work site are maintained, kept clean and stored in a safe manner.
- Responsible for daily maintenance and routine repairs of heavy-duty equipment
- Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance
- When not operating, complete some labour related tasks around site

**Qualifications**
- Education - An education in the tunneling or oil field industry, such as Operator, Driller, Heavy Duty Machinery Operator
- Experience - At least 4 years of specialized experience in the field
- Relevant work experience with Micro-tunneling Machines and/or Direct Pipe technology

**Key Technical Skills and Knowledge**
- A comprehensive understanding of excavation procedures, using various techniques and methods
- Experience with operation of wheeled and track excavation machines to complete Direct Pipe and Microtunneling projects
- Proven team leadership, conflict resolution, communication, and troubleshooting skills
- WHIMIS, First Aid, CSTS or PCST, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Fall Arrest / Fall Protection
- Drug and Alcohol clearance
- Valid driver's license

**Other Relevant Information**
- This position is assigned field locations
- While performing the duties of this job, Physical Demands will include prolonged standing, walking and/or sitting, use of hand dexterity, hearing and eyesight.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Extended periods of working away and travel is required in this position
- Employee will be required to work in outdoor weather conditions
