**Early Years Program Assistant**

**Location**: #200 12308 111 Avenue, Edmonton

**Position Status**:1 Full-time (40 hours/work) Permanent Position

**Key Responsibilities**
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Métis children and their families accessing Early Years Programming.
- Collect and organize program information and documentation.
- Calculate, track, request, and distribute accurate financial reimbursements based on program criteria, where required.
- Coordinate shipping and delivery of Early Years programming materials and mailouts.
- Schedule meetings, prepare and distribute agendas, and take meeting minutes, as required.
- Communicate updates, concerns, and details to the CFS team.
- Monitor program supplies, place orders, and ensure timely restocking of Children and Family Services programming materials.
- Provide support in the development, implementation, and facilitation of programs for Métis children and families, including supporting children and family programming at events (Alberta Métis Fest, Family Camps, etc.).
- Act as a primary support for event projects through various stages, ensuring standards of quality are met.
- Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, citizens, visitors, and other external stakeholders.
- Support other Otipemisiwak Métis Government Children and Family Services initiatives and other duties as required.

- Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and issues affecting Métis people. An in-depth understanding of the MNA and Métis culture is an asset.

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education Early Learning, Educational Assistance, Administration or a related program support field. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
- Two years’ experience in a similar role, is preferred.
- Indigenous Awareness Training is an asset.

**Other Requirements**
- Position is based in Edmonton; in-office presence is required.
- Ability to work a regular schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
- Must be willing to travel within Alberta and work irregular hours including weekends, on occasion, to meet project needs
- Reliable transportation and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Acceptable attainment and annual maintenance of a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check and an Intervention Record Check is required.
