Specialty Logistics Coordinator - Mississauga, ON

About the job:
A dedicated life science specialist courier in Canada delivering time and temperature-sensitive material worldwide is looking for a Specilaty Logistics Coordinator to join their team. They currently have offices in Toronto & Montreal and are expanding into other countries, including USA and Europe.

**Job Description**:
Logistics coordinators are responsible for ensuring all shipping requirements and functions are completed accurately and in timely fashion. The responsibilities include liaising with customers and their global network of specialist partners, before and throughout the shipping process, to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and that every shipment arrives in perfect condition. This position is also responsible for the management of qualified packaging solutions and the selection of shipment routing, including airlines and approved agents.

Responsibilities include:

- Create air freight bookings with airlines
- Assist customers with country specific regulatory requirements
- Obtain or help prepare specific shipping documentation CITES, FDA, USDA, APHA UK, etc.
- Arrange shipments with Medair offices & suppliers world-wide
- Keep customers updated with shipment progress until final delivery
- Timely & accurate capture of delivery status updates and proof of delivery details (POD’s)
- Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed
- Prepare validated temperature-controlled packaging
- Perform inventory counts, update inventory system and notify purchaser of stock depletion
- General office duties as required
- Must be available for evening & weekend duty phone roster
- Some overtime work may be required
- Attention to detail

Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years of office work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
- Courteous phone manner
- Effective time management and task management skills
- Knowledge of geography
- Ability to work efficiently while managing multiple projects/tasks/systems simultaneously
- Flexibility with shift/schedule
