**The Opportunity**:
This position assists in assessing, planning, implementation and ongoing delivery of therapy programs, under direct and indirect supervision of Rehabilitation Professionals to encourage residents to function at their maximum potential of independence in an effort to prevent or delay deterioration as long as possible.

The Rehabilitation Assistant provides approved and directed therapy interventions to residents, clerical support to department, housekeeping duties with regards to equipment, and other tasks as required.

**What You Will Do**:

- Reviews daily report and communication binders.
- Collects data and identifies problems.
- Porters clients to and from treatment room as required.
- Monitors resident ability to participate in therapy intervention.
- Is aware and appropriately communicates change of medical status, likelihood of aggression etc., to the Manager.
- Regularly communicates with RN/LPN/Rehabilitation Professional any concerns.
- Under direction of Rehabilitation Coordinator, promotes and maintains resident health by performing position tasks such as, but not limited to, carrying out ROM exercises as instructed, mobilizing clients, transferring and lifting residents using appropriate aids, conducting gait training, conducting appropriate exercise classes and group activities, assisting residents in walking program, preparing residents and equipment for rehabilitation treatment.

**What You Will Need**:

- Prior experience in continuing care/gerontology preferred.
- Post-secondary education is an asset.
- Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
- Completion of related 2 year diploma program from a recognized institution is required.
