NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

Under the direction of the Store Manager, this role supports the store manager in leading the sales of Circle Craft merchandise of its members working at the Granville Island store location.

The nature of Circle Craft’s operations requires flexibility on the part of the employee, and duties may change over time. This is a full-time hourly position working 4-5 days a week. The number of hours and days are flexible. This position requires a flexible schedule working days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Sales & Customer Engagement
- Supporting the store manager in leading and supervising the team to achieve sales targets by providing exceptional service.
- Acknowledging and greeting customers in a manner that welcomes them to the store and will translate to sales.
- Ensuring knowledgeable assistance is offered at all times to customers regarding store items, our members and activities at all times.
- Ensure the team prioritizes customers and are ready to engage and answer questions consistently.
- Ringing through sales at the POS counter.
- Wrapping and packaging of purchases efficiently and promptly.

General
- Responsible for maintaining order and cleanliness of the displays and store.
- Responsible for restocking the display of all products that have been purchased.
- Support in the merchandising of all incoming new product
- Keeping inventory storage in front of the store ensuring all items are safely stored
- Keep aware of the security of merchandise and be alert to shoplifters.
- Alerting management when additional stock is needed.

Other
- Executing all procedures for the opening and closing of the store
- Assist in the supervision of sales to ensure all customers are being assisted, store property is secure, and retail objectives are met
- Assist in follow-up training of newly hired sales staff.
- Conducting errands for the store when required.
- Participating in inventory counts.
- Work the annual Circle Craft Christmas Market

RECRUITING QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous store retail supervisor experience is a must, minimum 1 year.
- Experience working with sales targets is a must
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the sales team.
- Flexibility with scheduling: we are open seven days a week
- Merchandising experience is an asset
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Passion for arts and culture, including learning about our artists’ individual styles is an asset.

- Retail sales lead or supervisor experience, a minimum of one year is required
- Retail merchandising experience of a minimum of one year is (preferred)
