**JOB SUMMARY**:Reporting directly to the VP of People and Culture, this role functions as the key point of contact for employees and department managers at the Sunrise Farms Corporate office, Corporate Farms and Live Division. A true HR generalist, the Human Resources Manager will execute and maintain the employee experience as well as activities and programs throughout the company. They will bring solid knowledge of human resources best practices, assist in developing excellent, scalable people programs, and put the culture of Sunrise Farms first in any decisions or guidance. They will be a trusted leader within our team, collaborating effectively within the organization, working to distinguish Sunrise Farms as the employer of choice.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist in initiating, evaluating, and continually improving our people-related programs, policies, and processes to support the human resources strategy for the business
- Coach leaders on employee relations and day-to-day HR issues and help them develop their leadership skills
- Advise and make recommendations to Vice President of People & Culture on best practices in the areas of employee relations, engagement and development
- Assist in the rollout and successful adoption of any new or reshaped people program, strategic initiatives, tools, and policies
- Support the development and implementation of the internal communication strategy; monitor programs and make recommendations for continuous improvement
- Manage employee issues for Corporate Services, Farms, and our Live Haul divisions
- Conduct investigations when necessary
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition Team as well as department managers to onboard new corporate employees
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource legislative requirements; conducting investigations and maintaining records
- Plan and execute team culture and employee engagement activities and initiatives
- Assist with the development and implementation of a company-wide employee engagement survey, supporting the analysis of results and development of action plans to address employee feedback
- Assist department managers with performance issues within their teams
- Assist with annual performance management and compensation reviews

**REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE**:

- Certificate or degree in Human Resource Management or a related field, and minimum of 3-5 years related experience in a Human Resources-related role, with progressing responsibility (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
- Experience analyzing and advising on HR trends, programs and issues across multiple HR areas, providing guidance and support to individual employees and people managers
- Demonstrated ability to effectively oversee multiple projects, tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Great relationship-building skills, with an engaging, professional demeanour
- Highly responsive and approachable, with a strong customer service orientation
- Reliable person of integrity, who inspires confidence and carefully manages confidential information
- Consistently follows through, with great attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to thrive when working independently, taking initiative wherever possible
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to offer training to small and large group of people both remotely and in person
- Advanced Excel skills preferred (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
- Experience with Ceridian would be an asset
