Dolly Repair Technician

**Position Overview**
**Key Responsibilities**
- ** Dolly Repair - Inspection - Assembly of A-frames**
- Gathering dollies that need to be repaired.
- Tracking and updating repairs through Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
- (Fiix)
- Occasional heavy lifting required when loading, unloading, and moving dollies throughout the plant.
- Preparing reports and notifying appropriate departments of issues and deficiencies.
- Ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
- Follow work instructions correctly when building wooden A-Frames and performing any other tasks.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work area.
- ** Communication**
- Daily record keeping through spreadsheets, keeping track of work orders and inspections.
- Update Dolly Repair Report to provide progress on Dolly Repairs.
- Communicate all Fiix inspections with the maintenance coordinator.
- ** Time Management**
- Ensuring workload is scheduled efficiently to get through daily work along with dolly repairs or inspections and assembly.
- Managing organization of dolly repairs / inspection or assembly, proper procedures and tracking through the schedule.
- ** Quality**
- Keep workstations organized.
- Proof for correct repairs or inspection & assembly prior to acceptance at assigned department.
- Receive broken equipment from production and review with all appropriate staff/management for clarity of repairs.
- Thorough investigation of dolly safety issues, before handing it back to production.
**Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Training)**
- Minimum grade 12 education.
- Mechanical aptitude skills.
- Working knowledge of glass manufacturing processes is considered an asset. Understanding of structural welds.
**Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities**
- Use of small tools with mechanical aptitude.
- To be able to troubleshoot issues that arise with broken dollies.
- Knowledge of good vs. bad welds is a must. (Cracking
- failed structural welds).
- Strong technical understanding of dollies is an asset.
- Ability to work independently as well as be a contributing member of a team.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Ability to communicate efficiently with all the departments.
- Have good attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.
- Aptitude for math.
- Ability to problem solve and seek solutions.
- Good hand and eye coordination.
**Working Conditions**
This position mainly works in a manufacturing environment:
- Manufacturing Plant:_
- Temperature controlled indoor area.
- Comfortable environment with exposure to some dust, dirt or other conditions which might produce mild discomfort.
- Frequent, short periods when it is necessary to pay close attention to the monitoring of sight and sounds.
- Safety sensitive environment with mobile equipment and overhead cranes
- Physically demanding job requiring one to stand for extended periods of time.
- Most departments have a requirement to lift 50lbs or more.
