**Position Summary**
Elite Developments is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts throughout the lifecycle of residential and commercial projects. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with legal standards, mitigating risks, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships. As a Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in driving project success by ensuring contracts are executed efficiently and effectively while safeguarding the organization’s interests.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Contract Development & Negotiation**:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and agreements to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance with legal standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to establish clear, concise, and enforceable contract terms.
**Risk Assessment & Mitigation**:
- Identify contractual risks and implement strategies to mitigate potential financial, legal, or operational impacts.
- Monitor adherence to contract terms and address any non-compliance issues promptly.
**Stakeholder Management**:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
Act as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters, resolving conflicts and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
**Contract Administration**:
- Oversee contract execution, tracking, and amendments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure timely delivery of contractual obligations, such as payments, deliverables, and milestones.
**Legal Compliance & Documentation**:
- Ensure all contracts comply with local laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all contracts and associated correspondence.
**Process Optimization**:
- Develop and implement standardized contract management processes and templates to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, legal developments, and market conditions to enhance contract management practices.
**Qualifications**
- A degree in Business Administration, Law, Construction Management, or a related field.
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in contract management, with a focus on construction or real estate development.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and legal compliance requirements.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in contract management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with local construction laws, building codes, and permitting processes.
- Certification in Contract Management (e.g., NCMA, CCCM, or equivalent) is an asset.
