- Prepare approval drawings for projects of varying complexity, ensuring compliance with MetalCor’s detailing standards.
- Detail and check drawings for fabrication and erection purposes.
- Ensure adherence to expected job deadlines.
- Provide project coordination throughout the drafting process and ensure that all inquiries are resolved promptly and in a courteous manner.
- Identify and document potential improvements in software and processes.
- Creating accurate structural and cladding shop drawings and NC files for manufacturing purposes.
- Assist the drafting department with general administrative duties.
- Support project managers and collaborate with different disciplines, raise RFIs when required.

**Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary school diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent.
- Experience in structural steel drafting and detailing is preferred.
- Experience in 3D structural detailing using an industry recognized detailing software such as Tekla structures or Advance Steel is an asset.
- Knowledge of storage steel buildings components and/or pre engineered buildings is an asset.
- Awareness of welding types and symbols.
- Ability to produce accurate structural and cladding drawings (preliminary, erection and fabrication).
- Expert knowledge of 2D and/or 3D CAD methods to perform duties, proficient with AutoCAD.
- A good knowledge of math as it relates to basic engineering calculations.
- Ability to generate bill of materials from drawings.
- Awareness of BIM processes and workflows is preferred.
- Knowledge of different construction methods and the ability to read construction drawings and interpret specifications.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings for coordination with building design team.
- Knowledge of proper cladding practices used in the steel building industry.
- Must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
- Must have a willingness and ability to learn.
- Promptness and good time management skills are an asset.
- Promotes positive communication skills to liaise with other employees.
- Must be proactive and strive to improve methods and procedures to gain efficiency

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00-$24.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
