Reporting directly to the IT Lead, the Help Desk/PC Technician will be responsible for providing support and maintenance of information technology systems, both hardware and software, and will participate in the successful delivery of IT solutions to meet business needs.

**As a Help Desk/PC Technician, your main responsibilities will include (but not limited to)**:

- Installs and maintains computer hardware and software (repairs, testing, and configuration) while troubleshooting hardware and software on PCs
- Provides technical assistance to all end users relating to the operation of computer equipment and related peripherals
- Responds to incoming calls and support requests initiated by end users. Prioritises end user requests
- Assist with service providers to ensure timely repairs of computer and peripheral devices
- Maintains the company computer inventory
- Produce and monitor and log administration of system backups and associated media
- Set-up end-user profiles to MRP-II system, Common drives, and MS Exchange
- Problem determination of end-user requests by logging, assessing and prioritising end-user requests
- Configuration of new PCs. Re-configuring or debugging existing PCs
- Perform and log tape backup operations in timely manner
- Understanding of disaster recovery procedures

**What you require to be successful in the role**:

- Possession of a Computer Systems Technician diploma from a recognized post‑secondary institution or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of information technology support experience
- Demonstrated experience with principles, methods, and techniques used in all phases including installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of IT and business systems
- Knowledge of current principles and practices of systems administration
- Ability to successfully interact with all levels of management, other IT professionals and end-users
- Strong communication, interpersonal, time, analytic and problem-solving skills
- Open and responsive to change and demonstrates a commitment to the process of continuous improvement by identifying and responding actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.
