- Overview: Looking for a Laborer foreman to join our growing Turner team in Vancouver, Canada.
- Position Description: Responsible for leading, directing and coordinating the work of Turner trade employees. The Labor Foreman is responsible for ensuring safety, schedule delivery, and quality of work performed.
- Reports to the Field Superintendent Team
- Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be a working foreman while leading laborers to complete jobsite related projects
- Duties may include but are not limited to performing physical labor in assistance with jobsite clean-up, rough carpentry, site logistics, fencing, deck and platform building, protection systems, and construction waste areas
- Reviews jobsite needs with the project team
- Participate in the activities of subcontractors and suppliers
- Oversee and making decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels
- Completes and submits time sheets, daily construction reports, and required safety paperwork daily
- Adhere to the overall site safety and quality programs as required and ensuring Trade employees/subcontractors compliance with Turner standards and all applicable safety codes, regulations, and jobsite security
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees
- Accommodate afternoon, night and weekend work as needed
- Display a high level of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations
**May perform other duties as necessary or assignedQualifications:
Between two (2) and five (5) years of experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and exposure to supervisory responsibilities
Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
Moderate technical abilities including the utilization of a smart phone/tablet and supported software
Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
Must be able to comprehend safety instructions and signage, communicate effectively in emergency situations and understand written safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers
Physical Demands:

Constantly: Standing, Walking, Combined Standing and Walking, Lifting/Lowering/Carrying weight under 25lbs, Reaching below shoulder height. Bending/Twisting neck, and Balancing.
Frequently: Lifting/Lowering/ Carrying Weights 25-50lbs, Reaching above shoulder heights, Bending at the waist (forward & sideways), Pushing/Pulling, Climbing, Repetitive Motion, Noise/Dust/Chemical Exposures, and Working on heights.
Occasionally: Sitting, Lifting/Lowering/Carrying-Weights over 50lbs, Squatting, Kneeling, Crawling, and confined space hazards.
Additional Demands:
Vision abilities required include: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, perception, and focus.
Hearing abilities required include: Hearing abilities required with or without the use of an aide.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
