**Shelter Case Coordinator, YWCA Regina**

**Hours of Work: 37.5 per week - working a combination of 9a-5p and 1p-9p**

**Program Description**

The YWCA Regina has a reputation for providing low barrier services to women and families experiencing homelessness, violence, mental health and addictions problems, physical disabilities and other vulnerabilities. However, as a part of our Truth and Reconciliation work, we recognize that we have also contributed to the harms of Indigenous people and families, particularly in the area of child protection. We recognize that we often have mothers in our shelters, housing or outreach caseload who have had their children apprehended, or alternately, we see women in our shelters and programming who are struggling to parent their children and are at risk of intervention by the Ministry of Social Services. We are in a unique position to prevent apprehensions or reunify families as they are often already receiving support through our programming. Our work is towards keeping families together and reunifying families who have been separated. Our Repatriation Program will work to prevent child apprehension, which is our highest priority, or support reunification where apprehension has already occurred.
