**Position: Human Resources Specialist (Seniors / Retirement Living)**
**Salary Range**: ($70,000 to $75,000) based on experience
**Location**: Calgary, Alberta
**Days & Working Hours**: (Monday to Friday daytime hours)
*Must be flexible and willing to work other hours if business requires.

**Major Areas of Responsibility**
Now, if you were to come on board as one of our **Human Resources Specialists, **we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Interpreting and explaining company policies, procedures, practices, and programs.
- Providing advice and guidance to managers and associates for non union and unionized locations.
- Provide support to managers with associate coaching, onboarding and orientation
- Investigate issues, provide resolution, or escalate to field HR on the following
- Complaints about working conditions
- Disciplinary actions
- Alleged wrongful terminations
- Discrimination allegations, or other HR related matters.
- Perform administrative tasks as required by operations team
- Consult with HR Service Centre management to obtain advice on problem resolution and escalate issues as appropriate to Field HR for resolution.
- Work on special projects, both independently and as part of a team.
- Travel may be required to provide HR support through new account mobilization and stabilization

- **Minimum three years of experience as an HR Specialist / Generalist with a large company or supporting a line Business Unit in a complex fast paced environment, preferably with exposure to unionized associates and collective agreements.**:
- **Minimum 3 years experience working knowledge of Alberta employment labor laws**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced computer skills including ability to perform HRIS queries (i.e. JD Edwards), generate reports, perform web-based research, and create case management files in HR software (i.e. Remedy).
- Knowledge of employment labor laws
- Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- You have good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Ability to de-escalate situations and handle difficult callers.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate versatility, flexibility, and an enthusiasm about working with constantly changing priorities.
