This is a remote or hybrid opportunity (Ottawa, CA area). One year contract position with the possibility of extension.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide expertise and support for the development of a K-12 curriculum.
- Carry out focus groups and curriculum mapping with educators and regional education specialists.
- Create curricular materials by developing templates and educational standards that may include course outlines, lesson plans, and course overviews, assessments/quizzes, projects and assignments, presentation materials, and other handouts and documentation required for courses.
- Work with other training developers to balance and support multiple projects and priorities.
- Research and write scripts for eLearning videos and interactive lessons.
- Assist in the creation of supporting, in-class materials that compliment the eLearning videos and lessons.
- Research and write instructor guides.
- Contribute to improving processes and standards for the team.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Knowledge of curriculum development models and current research regarding trends in curriculum development.
- Understanding of curriculum development and the use of technology in learning and teaching.
- Understanding of the stages of child development and learning styles to create age-appropriate learning activities.
- In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of teaching and learning processes.
- An ability to transform technical concepts into clean, concise, and easily consumable information.
- An ability to tell a story and educate.
- A very strong command of English grammar and usage.
- Experience developing scenario-based learning.
- Experience with or an aptitude to learn and author in a content management environment, using Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise, and tools such as Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or similar is an asset but is not required.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum five (5) years experience in educational curriculum development, including experience in K-12 education.
- A university degree/diploma in Education.
- Experience with information security, computer science, cybersecurity awareness concepts, and e-learning training content is an asset.
