**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Educational Technology Supervisor, the Educational Technology Specialist is responsible advising and consulting with faculty members, contract instructors and teaching assistants on the use of a large and evolving number of educational technologies in teaching and learning activities at Carleton (including face to face, blended and fully online courses).

**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

- In-depth knowledge of educational technology support, technology integration and the educational technology field. The Educational Technology Specialist will demonstrate significant understanding of the principals of critical digital pedagogy.
- Effective project facilitation and organizational skills, along with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to actively research and maintain excellent awareness of educational technology solutions for best pedagogical practices.

**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

- A Masters degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Adult Education or related field is preferred. Equivalencies will be considered.
- Two years of relevant and current work experience in instructional design, educational technology support, or other field related to e-learning, preferably in educational settings. Teaching experience in a Higher Education environment is preferred. Equivalencies in education and experience will be considered.
