The **Vaughan International Film Festival (VFF)**is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to championing the future of short film. Since 2012, we’ve grown into a global platform for emerging and established filmmakers, offering an exciting space to showcase their work, connect with the film community, and celebrate storytelling through cinema.

VFF is more than just a film festival — we’re a dynamic hub for filmmakers, industry professionals, and film lovers alike.

**Position Overview**

We’re looking for **passionate, driven, and reliable volunteers** to join our **Cast Team**. As a Cast Team member, you’ll play a vital role in creating meaningful and memorable moments at our events throughout the year. This is your chance to get hands-on experience in the arts and event industry, make lasting connections, and help bring world-class film programming to life.

**Time Commitment**

Volunteers must be available for:

- Monthly in-person team meetings at our Vaughan office (twice a month on occasion)
- All major festival events and select year-round programming
- Occasional additional commitments based on event needs

This is a **1-year volunteer role** with the possibility of renewal.

**What You'll Do**
- Participate in **mandatory monthly in-person meetings** at our Vaughan office
- Support **festival events and activities** in various roles based on event needs
- Help amplify our reach by **interacting with VFF on social media** (liking, commenting, sharing)

**Examples of Event Roles (entry level)**
- Guest check-in and registration
- Audience engagement and crowd coordination
- Box office support
- Red carpet and media wall assistance
- Talent support and hospitality
- Event setup and teardown

**What We’re Looking For**
- **18+ years old**:

- **Ontario high school graduate** (or equivalent)
- **Vulnerable Sector Check** (required; at volunteer's expense)
- Active **WhatsApp** account
- **Reliable**, with a strong sense of commitment and follow-through
- Positive attitude, **punctual**, and professional
- **Detail-oriented** and able to follow through on assigned tasks
- **Patient and composed**, especially in high-traffic or high-pressure situations
- **Flexible and adaptable** in fast-changing, high-pressure environments
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working with staff and guests of all levels in a **high-energy, event-driven setting**:

- Passionate about film and the creative arts
- Previous experience with film festivals or events is a plus — but not required

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
