The Membership & Community Engagement Lead is an important member of the Chamber team, who plays a key role in executing the organization’s growth and retention strategies to ensure members enjoy a high-quality customer experience throughout every step of their membership journey.

You are an ambitious and energetic individual with exceptional customer service and communication skills. You are ready to play a key role in executing the organization’s growth and retention strategies to ensure members enjoy a high-quality customer experience throughout every step of their membership journey. You have at least 5 years of sales or exceptional customer service experience, and you thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven, and solutions-based environment that has defined targets and deadlines. You are energized by meeting new people, networking, facilitating introductions, and forging strong relationships with members of the community to grow the organization.
**Reports to: Chamber President & CEO**
The Member and Community Engagement Lead participates in the general operation of the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce and provides support services to the membership, the business community, and the CEO.
**Responsibilities**:
**Operations**
- Participate in day-to-day operations of the Chamber office.
- Distribute information to Chamber members, businesses, the community, and stakeholders as required.
- Assist with tasks and administration for committees and events as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of chamber office and management policies, procedures, and practices affecting all programs and services.
- Promote and champion all member benefits and identify new member benefits.
- Diligently track all sales and retention conversations and outcomes in the organization’s CRM/database.
- Lead the organization’s member and cost savings programming.
- Assist with selling sponsorships and advertising.
- Attend internal and external events to develop business leads and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
- Coordinate member programs, member-to-member discounts, and member affinity programs with Ontario Chamber & Canadian Chamber.
- Regularly communicate with the Chamber CEO regarding daily operations.
- Other operational tasks as required.
**Member Service**
- Work with members and prospective members to understand their business needs, goals, and challenges - and assist with solutions where possible.
- Lead all membership sales and retention tasks, guided by KPIs (key performance indicators) and targets (including but not limited to making daily sales and retention calls/visits/touchpoints, logging details into the CRM/database, managing customer relationships, etc.).
- Develop improvements to the member experience and enhance retention.
- Participate on Chamber committees as required.
- Participate in Chamber event coordination and execution.
- Represent the Chamber in a public forum, ex. external boards & committees as required.
- Track and promote member communications, newsletter, social media posts, etc as outlined in membership benefits and sponsorship agreements.
- Promote a positive relationship with local businesses in the community.
- Stay aware of events relevant to the Halton Hills business community.
- Other membership tasks as required.
**Communications - Social Media/Website/Print**
- Along with the rest of the Chamber team, maintain the Chamber website.
- Internal and External communications presence via social media on a variety of platforms, community updates, and members’ newsletters.
- Contribute to the planning of the social media calendar to reflect activities, programs, and services provided by the Chamber of Commerce.
- Coordinate and prepare the Member’s newsletter on a weekly basis.
- Prepare and create membership packages and marketing materials. in addition to performing other duties and special projects as they arise or are assigned by the Chamber CEO.
**Education/Experience**
A post-secondary diploma or degree in marketing, sales, or business is preferred, or relevant work experience in sales and customer service (minimum 5 years).
