As NAIT continues to grow its student body and lead the way in hands-on learning, we are recruiting skilled and passionate individuals to help support current and future industry professionals and become part of Canada’s leading polytechnic.
The Culinary Arts program provides students with relevant, high quality culinary training. The program will introduce students to the fundamental skills of cooking, including contemporary hot and cold presentation, pastry art and international cuisine.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
- Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
- Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
- Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
- Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
- Respond to student issues
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
- Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
- Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT 2021, NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by the institute
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
- Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
- Other duties as assigned
**Skills & Abilities**:
- Excellent interpersonal Skills
- Strong desire to help students succeed
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong knowledge of computers
**Qualifications**:
- Completion of related post-secondary education
- Registered Dietitian
- Minimum 3-years’ experience in procurement in special diets and dietary restrictions
- Strong knowledge of nutrition and the ability to interpret the Canadian Food Guide
- Strong Knowledge of food born illness and Alberta’s food handling policies and guidelines.
- Previous teaching experience a strong asset
**Remuneration**: will commensurate with education & experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Instructor - 5501).
