Category Manager

Goodness Me is currently seeking an experienced, full-time Category Manager (Grocery) for our Central Office Team.

**Your day-to-day**:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the Grocery category by maximizing sales and profitability, optimizing merchandising and product selection, and continuing to shape best-in-class relationships with our vendor and store partners.

**Other duties and tasks may include**:

- Building vendor relationships to enable effective negotiations
- Developing category plans inclusive of emerging segments and products to maintain the industry’s most relevant assortment
- Identifying and monitoring competition (including price checks)
- Managing product assortment to achieve financial and customer experience performance targets
- Executing category plans by delivering against the category pricing, promotion assortment and merchandising plans that support strategies and financial objectives
- Performing all vendor cost, program, and contract negotiations
- Overseeing promotional activities, managing flyer penetration, promotional profitability
- Collaborating with other departments to address in-stock inventory
- Supporting in-store merchandising and the development of SOP’s and various programs
- Supporting the day-to-day functions of the store-level departments
- Other duties as assigned

**What you bring**:

- Minimum of 2 years in a category manager role dealing with consumer goods
- Operations experience is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred
- 1-2 years experience working with ERP preferred
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage multiple projects with a broad workload
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

80% Remote; 20% On-site as required
