**Counter Service**

To ensure success, our Counter Staff exhibit experience and knowledge in a retail setting and a customer-oriented approach.

**Responsibilities**:

- Creating a welcoming and positive customer experience at our service counters.
- Advising customers on selection and taking orders.
- Weighing, pricing, and packaging purchased items, as well as processing payments.
- Managing the counter inventory and advising kitchen leader of low stock in appropriate time.
- Ensuring products are displayed in a first in first out manner.
- Monitoring the visual appeal and the availability of display.
- Restocking as needed all areas of the store - retail merchandise, food, and beverage items.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy counter, fridges, and display cases.
- Cleaning the store after business hours and preparing it for the next day - floors, garbage’s, counter displays, fridges, bathroom, shop windows.
- Communicating with back of house team all feedback from customers.
- Managing customer complaints and relaying them to the Manager.
- Opening customer tickets, tracking customers in the store, collecting payment.
- Closing checks in POS and balancing float at the end of each shift.
- Performing other duties on request.

**Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Vocational training or café experience would be advantageous.
- Food Handler Certificate required.
- Previous experience in serving customers in a bakery/deli environment preferred.
- Proficiency in weighing, pricing, packaging, and processing payments.
- Ability to manage ingredient inventories and to track expiry dates.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to create visually appealing displays.
- Knowledge of food and health industry regulations.
- Advanced ability to multitask and follow instructions given by leaders.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
