Reporting to the President, Canada, the Vice President, Finance will join the as a member of a high performing leadership team to assist in achieving the next phase of our growth by:

- Providing leadership of the commercial, financial, credit, collections and local IT functions for the Canadian business.
- Delivering a high standard of financial support to the local management team and provide reliable, regular financial, compliance and risk reporting into relevant group functions.
- Playing a key role in managing local advisors and collaborate with Group Accounting and Finance around tax risk management and the Company’s capital management strategy.
- Playing a key role in growing the business and work closely with the Canadian executive team to promote the brand and build meaningful long term relationships with dealers, customers and other third party stakeholders
- Identifying and implement changes to accounting, finance and credit processes which will improve the Company’s efficiency and effectiveness

**Key Responsibilities**:
**_
Leadership/Management:_**
- Provide leadership and guidance to all team members to ensure high quality business process and commercial outcomes
- Liaise effectively with Group Accounting to ensure that month end process is efficient and robust
- Establish strong working relationships with transaction processing teams to leverage existing and new technologies
- Seeks new ideas and leads change, utilizing feedback from internal and external stakeholders
- Adopts the Gazelle methodology and has a strong focus on the development of their team through 1-on-1 meetings, as well as mentoring, coaching, motivating, developing and creating realistic staff development plans
- Possesses strong coaching skills - listens, asks questions, provides examples, talks to behaviours, provides clear expectations
- Manages meetings effectively structure (preparation, agenda, controls meeting, invites appropriate people)

**_Accounting/Finance:_**
- Financial reporting is timely, accurate and presented in a way is understood by key stakeholders and supports effective decision making._
- Improve efficiencies in month end process, standardising processes and adopting best practice.
- Understand and contribute to the improvement of group accounting policies and ensure they are consistently applied in the preparation of the Groups accounting results
- Responsible for liaison with auditors and others to ensure that statutory reporting is conducted within specific timeframe
- Keeps abreast of changes in accounting regulation and ensures that this is communicated to the business in a timely manner

**_Forecasting:_**
- Establish and maintain an effective and efficient process of updating the Groups budgeting and rolling forecasts at least quarterly
- Work with CFO, Group Financial Controller and Group Finance Manager on five year forecasting
- Effectively integrate forecast information into monthly reporting
- Take long term forecasting information and create awareness and understanding of long term financing strategy with the local level management team

**_Taxation:_**
- Takes responsibility for working effectively with the Company’s tax advisers to ensure that compliance is adhered to in a timely manner
- Work with the CFO and Group Financial Controller to ensure the Company has an efficient tax structure, giving particular regard to transfer pricing and thin capitalisation legislation across the countries in which the group operates
- Takes a proactive approach in gaining tax advice for new business products and geographical territories

**_Banking Compliance and Treasury Management:_**
- Developing and maintain a reporting framework for treasury which integrates appropriately with the Group Treasury function
- Build effective working relationships with local level banks
- Ensure continued compliance with lending covenants applicable to the Canadian business
- Work with CFO and Group Finance Manager on capital management initiatives

**Role Requirements**:

- CPA qualified
- 5 to 10 years commercial experience in a senior financial role, ideally in the financial or professional services fields, or in the lending or asset financing fields
- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to build and develop a high performing team, as well as experience in being a vocal and active member of a senior leadership team
- Able to build strong, trusting relationships across all departments
- Ability to juggle competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
